Aphra Books is looking to publish new titles in 2009/10. We are looking for quality fiction in the following areas: Lesbian or lesbian-friendly Fiction, Travel, Biography, Young Adult, Poetry, Humour,
Royalties will be sales-related only - advances will not be paid.
You must motivated and self-sufficient enough to assist with promoting your title, we will help but you must be prepared to get involved.

Paper submissions and entire manuscripts will not be accepted. If we are not interested we will tell you why, but will not enter into any further discussion. We will read your submission as quickly as possible, but please note that it maybe up to four to six months before you hear our decision.

If we are interested we will ask for the full MS by post. Manuscripts should be typed, double spaced, on one side of 80gsm paper with margins of at least one inch on all four sides. Pages should be numbered, preferably in the top right hand corner, with author's name and the title of the work.

Books will be made available to bookstores through all major wholesalers and on-line retailers in both the USA and the UK.
Royalties (typically between 5 to 10% of cover price) will be paid on a quarterly basis.
Advances will not be offered and requests thereof will not be entertained.
